I have no doubt we can't count on EA to provide a patch like that. They have no vested interest in the community being able to make and share CC because that might cut into the profits they're making by selling their own "CC" at their store...the world's biggest paysite for Sims 3 content...lol.

I understand what you're saying and I sympathize with the people who just want to create decorated homes without having it turn into a secretarial chore of mighty dimensions. I remember back in Sims 1 that's how it was and it took me *forever* just to create the shopping list for the Bali House. I think I had every plant in Simland in the gardens and it was a nightmare trying to hunt the source down for every last little thing on that lot. But there was no way to share it without crediting all the creators and no one could get the full effect without having all those items in their game anyway.

Dealing with that was a chore for the people who downloaded the house as well...that list was one giant scavenger hunt for someone who wanted to have each item...especially as time went on and some of the creators took their sites down.

That said, I'm still planning on sticking with the MTS tools which make things in the .package format. I have no intention of dealing with the TSRW because I really don't care too much for the whole feel of TSR and that was even before any allegations of somewhat underhanded behavior out of them surfaced. It saddens me that this might limit the use of my things by wonderful architect/decorators like you Juli but that's the reality of the situation I suppose. On the other hand, both HT and I allow our Indigo items to be shared in houses that are being offered for download. If they won't just automatically package with the house you should feel free to include them in the house rar if you want as long as the object description remains the same. All of those items are "blue lot safe" too.

Lol - I so remember when I arrived here at JS and tried to install your bali-house OM. It looked like a mess and I thought I have picked up everything available, because that shoppinglist was so well done. But there were already so many sites missing. And then I had probably 10 plants in the whole garden

One of the unsolved problems was that at that time I had already downloaded every single item of all the existing sims-gardening groups and sites and from that famous australian site too (something with p in the name?) and only a very few of them showed up. I then gave up. okay compared to that things in Sims2 were much better :)

(I get always so sentimental when I think of making gardens in Sims1.... what beautiful things we had)

I absolutely understand why you don't want to spend too much time with TSR workshop. That shows also a certain consequence on the theme that I understand and respect. (I read this distressing statements of of one of the young tsr creators at MTS lately - that guy should slowly become old enough to not behave any longer this childish but he never might. Maybe too spoiled by too much kudos in an too early age - lol - way sad).

For that package thing - I am also sad about it and hope there might be a solution once. A sign on the thumb and designers naming their files and thumbtexts properly might already help a lot (except for patterns). At the moment my time was always so limited that I didn't spend a lot to deal with the whole subject . And would I begin really to decorate a home I think it won't work for playing much longer. So in the moment it is okay like it is and I see forward when my work ends at the end of that monthh. Besides there might be many negative effects I see forward that there might be at least one positive effect - more time to care about cc and a finally a decorating game :D

Patterns are definitely an issue. I have CC patterns in my game that I got so long ago I can't even remember where I got them...I did take screenshots of everything I downloaded at the beginning but sometimes I missed one here or there. It does create a problem.

Lovely, lovely homes both of you. Rike that house looks like a seaside home perfect for catching summer breezes off the ocean. And Juli, I just love the elegance of your creation. Thank you for sharing these houses :)

It is a very simple home, but I was so addicted to the new set of Luna with the panels and japanese windows. These are available in both formats (as is the adorable nooks from Awesims) and Luna (Simslulamai) allows all free sharing - it is only the process of registration needed. And she made also an adorable set with different stuff for andalusian/moorish building with 4 different oriental windows, they are also beautiful. It is nice to have more building stuff.

But I get more and more difficulties to use newer CC because once it is made with a patched game you can't use it when your game isn't patched (even there are many houses I can't install) and mine has only the patch that came with WA. That's way sad because the game is on a computer I have and want no internetconnection for and I have no idea how to patch the game without :x

Well, that's why I don't have any patches...I've got basically a virgin game. But I have heard, although do not know if true, that the latest patches make it so people no longer have to be patched to the same point to share objects. If that isn't true, there is a way of fixing things made with patched games so they will go into any game. BabaYaga posted one at MTS and I tested it for her and it worked in my game. So when I get a spare moment I'm gonna patch up and, if necessary, do the coding so everyone can use my things.

Although I do know you don't use them in your homes to share Juli, which makes me sad. There is nothing else I can do to make it easier...I will not use the TSRW. I want nothing to do with that site.
